James Wright

Law Clerk

James has completed his Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class IIA) at Griffith University and is due for admission at the Supreme Court of Queensland in late 2026.

From the beginning of his studies, James saw himself as an advocate and has set out to gain broad experience in litigation and dispute resolution.

While undertaking his studies, James was involved in Giffith University’s open Client Interview and Negotiation competitions, winning both in 2024, he received an award for academic excellence, and undertook work experience at a legal clinic, which provides free legal services to the Gold Coast community.

Prior to joining the team, James also gained experience in various commercial environments, including an insurance brokerage firm, assisting people with complex insurance claims, as well as a prominent Gold Coast litigation firm where he worked for two years – starting out as a work experience student, before being promoted to a legal assistant position, and again, to a full-time law graduate position upon completion his studies.

James has a particular interest in consumer, insurance, equity, property, and contract law disputes.

In his spare time, James enjoys collecting CDs and records, surfing, and long-distance running.
