Julia joined the Cronin Miller team as a Law Graduate in May 2018 and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in November 2018.
Achieving an Honours undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Canada, Chinese-born Julia started her career working as an in-house legal consultant in a private Canadian corporate group managing franchise agreements, negotiating commercial leases, and defending the group in disputes with franchisees, landlords, as well as government agencies.
After moving to Australia, Julia earned her Juris Doctor degree specialising in Dispute Resolution from Bond University where she received her Executive Dean’s Awards for being the first in the class of Mediation.
Julia’s experience in Australia, and here on the Gold Coast has been impressive notwithstanding her recent move here. She has acted for business owners in resolving disputes through mediation, helped Chinese inbound investors doing business in Australia, assisted Australian businesses trading in China, and worked on commercial transactions, as well as provided quality-assured translations of legal documents.
With a keen interest in dispute resolution she has already attained standing as a National Accredited Mediator under the Australian National Mediation Accreditation Standards (NMAS) which has been recognized by the neighbouring countries in the Asia Pacific region as a required standard for mediators. Julia is looking to further her qualifications and is pursuing accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) as well.
